Intellisight is an AI agent embedded in the impact investing ecosystem that surfaces what is already known but largely unstructured or disconnected. By synthesizing signals across portfolio activity, reports, and conversations, it reveals patterns and early warning signs, enabling stakeholders to shift from reactive decision-making to proactive, ecosystem-aware action, without acting as a central authority or replacing human judgment.

CONTEXT
The Abundance Circle is an impact investing ecosystem builder that goes beyond traditional fund models by enabling collective intelligence, shared risk, and regenerative value creation. Their aim is de-risking participation while aligning donors, investors, founders, and institutions around long-term impact.
TALKING TO STAKEHOLDERS
Stakeholders face buried and fragmented insights, where critical learnings and early risk signals are scattered across reports, notes, and communications, slowing pattern recognition and timely action. Siloed portfolio knowledge prevents relevant peer exchange, even when companies face similar challenges. Portfolio managers, often operating in resource-constrained environments, are forced into reactive management, spotting risks or collaboration and growth opportunities only after momentum declines. Underpinning these challenges is a core need for trust in data sources, positioning AI not as a replacement for human expertise, but as a connective intelligence layer that surfaces, validates, and aligns ecosystem knowledge for proactive, collective action.
OUR APPROACH
We framed the design process around a speculative but strategic question -
What would be possible if a network of AI agents was already embedded in, and operating across the impact investing ecosystem?
Instead of treating AI as an external tool, we imagined it as a native ecosystem layer, acting like an invisible but active organism that:
- Observes stakeholder behavior, portfolio signals, and governance patterns
- Interprets ecosystem gaps, opportunities, and evolving relationships
- Acts by enabling smarter decision moments, seamless coordination, and regenerative feedback loops
This allowed us to shift our approach from designing for a system → to designing within a living system that already has intelligence moving through it.
SO, WHAT IS INTELLISIGHT?
An intelligent data and decision support agent tailored for companies within the Abundance Circle Ecosystem. This tool acts as a strategic co-pilot—an always-on, insight-driven system that understands the unique dynamics, principles, and impact metrics of the ecosystem.
MOMENT - ACTIVATION
Activation marks the inflection point where awareness transforms into actionable insight. It is the phase where dormant or hidden patterns within the system surface such as inefficiencies, redundancies, or underserved areas and are brought into focus as "gaps" that can be addressed. These gaps may exist at the project level or at the systemic level
Because the ecosystem is fluid and interconnected, Activation does not occur in isolation. Instead, it emerges through continuous feedback loops, shared data repositories, and intentional dialogue between stakeholders such as funders, intermediaries, entrepreneurs, and community voices.

*The working protoype demo was built in 5 days. This project used Python with Streamlit for the web interface and FastAPI for the REST API backend. It implements a RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) system using LangChain and OpenAI's GPT-3.5-turbo model. Documents are processed with Unstructured and pdfplumber, embedded using OpenAI embeddings, and stored in ChromaDB for semantic search. Data processing uses pandas, with Pydantic for data validation. AI was used in the development of this project.
